He is the founder of the Virginia Interscholastic Cycling League, VAHS MTB Series, and Miller School of Albemarle Endurance Team. He has been featured in USA Today, C’Ville Weekly, VeloNews, Virginia Sportsman, and Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine. As a result of his work with youth and sports, Hufnagel was invited to the White House to discuss with the Obama administration initiatives to engage youth in outdoor activity and physical fitness.
